About the Studio
Covyne Entertainment is an independent Australian game development studio based in Melbourne, Victoria, focused on creating original indie games with strong atmosphere, strategic gameplay, and immersive storytelling. The studio develops Australian survival horror games, dark fantasy deckbuilder RPGs, tactical card battlers, and story-driven indie experiences for PC and tabletop players.
The journey began in 2012 after a family trip from Melbourne to the Naracoorte Caves in South Australia inspired principal developer Andrew Naish to begin creating games as a hobby project. That first game, Frontier Quest, was a retro-inspired space platformer that marked the beginning of Covyne Entertainment’s development journey. Frontier Quest remains publicly playable today and laid the foundation for the studio’s future indie game development ambitions.
More than a decade later, Covyne Entertainment released its first major commercial title, Dolven, a dark fantasy indie deckbuilder RPG launched on Steam on 24 October 2025. Combining tactical card battler mechanics, turn-based RPG combat, dungeon crawler exploration, poker-inspired gameplay systems, and mercenary card combat, Dolven established the studio’s focus on unique strategy-driven experiences. The team also developed Dolven: Runes Gambit, a physical fantasy card game inspired by the video game universe.
Covyne Entertainment is currently developing X300, an Australian psychological survival horror game set within a secret Cold War nuclear facility hidden deep in the Australian outback. Inspired by classic first-person survival horror games, atmospheric horror experiences, and retro-futuristic Cold War themes, X300 combines puzzle survival horror, story-driven horror, and immersive exploration within a haunting nuclear facility setting shaped by Australian history and isolation.
Today, Covyne Entertainment continues to focus on developing distinctive Australian indie games that blend gameplay innovation, narrative depth, tactical systems, and atmospheric world-building for players around the world.
